He says he enjoys golf because "the mental toughness needed to play this sport at a high level is unbelievable, and it requires your attention all the time. Although it may not necessarily require the most physical ability, it is by far the hardest sport I have ever played."

In 2020 he won the Haskins Award, the Ben Hogan Award, and the Jack Nicklaus Award. He became the fifth person ever to win all three awards in the same year.

Sahith was a three-time NCAA All-American at Pepperdine University.

He won the 2022 QBE Shootout together with Tom Hoge on shot ahed of Charley Hoffman and Ryan Palmer.

Sahith Theegala won his first PGA Tour event, the 2023 Fortinet Championship with a total score of 267 (-21). Runner up was Kim Seong-hyeon 2 shots behind.

He came 9th at the 2023 Masters Tournament. He tied for 12th at the 2024 PGA Championship.
