Ryan studied at the University of Nevada-Las Vega.

Ryan had a successful amateur career, winning the NCAA Individual Championship, the US Amateur Public Links, and the U.S. Amateur in 2004.

As an amateur he won the 2002 US Amateur Public Links, 2004 US Amateur, 2004 Western Amateur, 2004 US Amateur Public Links, 2004 NCAA Division I Championship and 2004 Sahalee Players Championship.

He turned pro in 2005 and joined the PGA Tour in the same year.

He won his first PGA Tour title, the Wyndham Championship, in 2009. His total score was 264 (-16). He defeated Jason Bohn and Kevin Stadler in a play off.

Ryan Moore won the 2012 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open with a total score of 260 (-24). Runner up was Brendon de Jonge 1 shot behind.

At the Masters Tournament, Moore's best performance was another tie for 9th place, which he accomplished in 2015. While he hasn't won a major, Moore's consistent ability to make cuts and compete at a high level in these prestigious events showcases his talent and resilience on some of golf's biggest stages.

In 2011, partnered with friends and family to form RMG Golf Course Management LLC (RMG Club). Designed to combat south Puget Sound's sagging golf economy, the RMG Club took over the ownership and day-to-day affairs of the Classic CC in Spanaway, McCormick Woods in Port Orchard and Oakbrook G&CC in Lakewood. "We want this to be a product that appeals to everyone," Moore said. "We want people to have great facilities they can go play at a reasonable rate." With three levels of unlimited golf memberships available, The RMG Club is designed to attract players of all skill levels.

He has served as host of the BMW Northwest Charity Skins Game at Chambers Bay in Washington State.

He is co-founder of TRUE Linkswear, a company that designs golf shoes and other types of footwear.
