Russell studied at Jacksonville University.
He turned pro in 2007.
Russell Knox joined the Korn Ferry Tour in 2011.
He gained his PGA Tour card for the 2014 season after finishing 12th on the Nationwide Tour money list.
He won his first PGA Tour event, the WGC-HSBC Champions, in 2015. His total score was 268 (-20). Runner up was Kevin Kisner 2 shots behind.
In addition to his WGC victory, Knox won the Travelers Championship in August 2016. He had a strong showing during this period, including three runner-up finishes and three third-place finishes on the PGA Tour.
Russell Knox won the 2016 Travelers Championship with a total score of 266 (-14). Runner up was Jerry Kelly 1 shot behind.
Knox has participated in several major championships, with his best finish being T22 at the PGA Championship in 2016. He also qualified for the Ryder Cup but narrowly missed selection for the European team in 2016.
