Nick O'Hern, from Perth Australia, is the only golfer to beat Tiger Woods twice in the World Match Play Championship.
The 2005 World Match Play Championship was played at La Costa in California. After winning in 2003 and 2004 Tiger Woods was the hot favourite. In the second round he faced Nick O'Hern, the leftie from Oz. To most people the result seemed a forgone conclusion but after birdies on 2 and 3 O'Hern was 2 up and held his lead to win 3&1.
Meeting again in the 2007 WGC Accenture World Match Play Championship O'Hern was 4up after 7 holes in his match against Woods before Woods fought back to square the match with a birdie on 18. Pars halved the first play off hole before O'Hern made par from a bunker on the 20th hole to win the match.
O'Hern played as a full time professional for near 20 years and reached a ranking high of 16 in in the world.
