The simplest answer – be ranked in the top 50 in the OWGR (Official World Golf Rankings)
Beyond being ranked in the top 50, there are a number of other ways to receive an invite. All past champions are invited back to play each year. Any player that has won a Major in the last 5 years receives an invitation.
You can find the full list of qualifications at https://www.augusta.com/masters/qualifications. Some of our favorites include: Current US Amateur winner & runner-up. Top 12 finishers from last year’s Masters. All PGA tour winners for the last 12 months.
The tournament committee will typically select a couple international players that wouldn’t be in otherwise and send them an invite. The goal of the committee is to get a diverse and talented field.
