Hoge attended Fargo South High School and was named North Dakota's Most Outstanding Golfer in his senior year.
Tom played college golf at Texas Christian University.
As an amateur he won the 2006, 2007 and 2008 North Dakota Stroke Play Championship, the 2008 Columbia Invitational, the 2009 and 2010 Minnesota State Amateur as well as the Morris Williams Intercollegiate.
He turned pro in 2011.
His first professional win came at the 2011 Canadian Tour Players Cup.
Tom Hoge won the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro AM. His total score was 268 (-19). Runner up was Jordan Spieth 2 shots behind.
In March 2023, Hoge barely made the cut at the Players Championship but went on to set a tournament record with a stunning 10-under 62 in the third round.
