Lanto Maitreya Griffi was born on the 15th of June 1988 in Mount Shasta, California.

He was named after a spiritual master (Lord Lanto) and is very thankful for his balanced upbringing.

Griffin played his college golf at VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) where he was CAA player of the year in 2009.

Lanto turned professional in 2010 and his career has been one of patience and perseverance. He travelled the world for 7-8 years playing mini-tour events before becoming a consistent performer on the PGA tour in 2019 and collecting a win at the Houston Open.
