Bernd Wiesberger was born on 8 October 1985 in Vienna, Austria.

As an amateur he won the 1997 Austrian Boys Championship, 2004 Austrian Amateur Match Play Championship, 2004 Austrian Amateur Stroke Play Championship, 2005 Austrian Amateur Stroke Play Championship, 2005 Austrian Youths Championship, 2006 Austrian Amateur Stroke Play Championship and 2006 Austrian Youths Championshi

His younger brother, Niki, is his occasional caddie.

He represented Austria at the 2004 and 2006 Eisenhower Trophy.

Bernd turned pro in 2006 and currently plays on the European tour. He finished the 2019 season in third place in the Race to Dubai standings.

In 2017 Bernd Wiesberger became the first person on the European Tour to record nine birdies in a row at the Maybank Championship at Saujana Golf and Country Club.

With preferred lies in place the record was not counted officially but this didn’t detract from the Austrian’s historic display. His score of nine-under 63 moved him into the 36-hole lead in emphatic fashion.

Wiesberger went on to record further rounds of 73 and 66, finishing in third place on 17-under-par, two strokes behind winner Fabrizio Zanotti.

Bernd Wiesberger won his fist European Tour event, the 2012 Ballantine's Championship, with a total score of 270 (-18). Runner up was Richie Ramsay 5 shots behind.

Wiesberger made history by becoming the first Austrian to represent his country at the Ryder Cup in 2021.

Wiesberger signed with LIV Golf League in 2022. In 2024, he returned to the DP World Tour.
