Nike stopped making golf clubs due to declining sales of golf equipment and an increasingly competitive market dominated by companies such as Callaway, TaylorMade, and Titleist.
In August 2016 Nike announced that it would stop making golf clubs, bags, and balls to focus more on golf apparel and footwear.
Selling golf clubs just was not profitable enough for the company to continue making them.
Despite having high-profile players such as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as endorsers, Nike was not able to achieve the same level of success in golf equipment as it had in other areas of the sports apparel industry.
Nike continues to sponsor professional golfers and produce golf apparel and accessories.
